The Cost-Effective Scaffolding Solution
A simple scaffolding design called ‘Humphries’ which was once a major contributor to the worldwide construction industry earlier in the 20th century, has made a comeback with us now manufacturing it under the brand name ‘scafBRAC’.
This is a steel triangular hanging bracket, and can be attached to timber columns, poles and conventional framing. Planks and walking platforms are installed from bracket to bracket with timber hand rails. During our portal frame builds out on site we used this scaffolding and perfected it to suit our own install process.
This scaffolding system is fully certified NZ wide for use up to 5m from the ground. It is also out in a class of its own when pole platforms on sloping ground are needed, and is perfect for installing portal frame structures, as they are very similar to pole foundations. Portability and easy storage is important, and the ‘scafBRAC’ suspended scaffolding system is the absolute ideal design for portal frame builds.

HISTORY
The creators of scafBRAC drew their inspiration by the legendary Humphries Steel Bracket system. This revolutionary ‘hanging’ scaffolding system was invented by Wellington builder and engineer George Humphrey in 1905.
Upon its launch, the Humphries Steel Bracket drew acclaim from Wellington building firms and tradesman for its simplicity, portability and remarkable weight bearing strength. News of Humphries innovation quickly spread nationally and internationally.
By 1908 Humphries was producing his brackets from a factory in Watford, England. His break-through invention was perfectly suited to England’s brick and tile Victorian estate homes, warehouses and factories.
Over 100 years later Humphries Steel Bracket continues to inspire many other innovative building products in the building industry worldwide scafBRAC’s creators are proud to continue the Humphries legacy of innovative design, sound engineering and cost-effectiveness.
